An Important Message from Access Therapy Services - Covid-19
We are open and it’s business as usual with a few innovative changes.
We are committed to remain open for as long as possible with social distancing and a COVID-19 action plan and protocol already in operation.
I want to reassure you that your safety is our priority and we have already put new standards and procedures in place to make sure that we are being proactive in how we manage the impact of COVID-19.
We will continue to provide a service to our clients either in their home or by telehealth where possible and face to face in our clinic if required. When we meet with clients, we have already enhanced our infection control protocols to minimise the risk.
We are actively monitoring the situation and we are taking all recommendations from Qld Health and/or the Australian Government very seriously.
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is proven to be an effective way to maintain and continue with important therapeutic appointments when people are unable to see a therapist in person. There is a lot of research that shows positive health outcomes with using telehealth modes of delivery such as Skype, Facetime and Zoom. If you don’t already use any of these digital platforms DO NOT WORRY! We are here to help and one of our team will assist you to set this up and show you how to use it. I can assure you that once you know how to use them, it is simple and fun – you never know you may even start to use it to stay in touch with friends or family who don’t live nearby.
Children and Telehealth
It is vital that children maintain a routine during a time where normal everyday activities have changed such as during a natural disaster or a global pandemic. Routine helps children to feel calm and safe, even if it looks a little different, therefore we are doing everything we can to ensure that we can continue to see the clients as usual.
Our appointments may look a little different, but this can add to the interest for the child and can help to aid therapy. Please help us to maintain a routine for your child by being flexible and assisting us with our sessions (e.g. printing out resources, setting up telehealth).
How can we all support each other?
We are asking all our clients to help us to remain open so that we can continue to support our community and keep our business operational. We are a small business and know that we will be impacted by COVID-19 however we appreciate your support to ensure that this impact is as minimal as possible.
If you have concerns about your health or have been in contact with someone who has concerns, or who has been overseas in the last 14 days, please let us know.
We have some supplies on board our cars so if you need, or you know someone who needs, anything please let us know and we will do our best to support our community.
